AdminVPS Expands Its European VPS Footprint with New Locations in Italy and Switzerland

Hosting provider AdminVPS has added two new locations to its VPS network, giving customers the option to deploy virtual servers in Italy and Switzerland. Both locations have been added to the Promo plan and are already available for ordering.

The expansion is more than a couple of extra countries in a dropdown menu. Server geography can influence latency, routing and how efficiently a project reaches its audience. In hosting, the map is sometimes part of the architecture.

Italy targets Southern European workloads

The new Italy location is likely to be most relevant for projects serving users in Italy and other parts of Southern Europe.

Websites, applications, gaming services, APIs and regional business platforms can benefit from placing infrastructure closer to their primary audience. Italy can also serve as an additional node for distributed infrastructure, including backup services, secondary application components and regional deployments.

For projects with users concentrated in Italy, Spain, southern France, the Balkans and nearby markets, an Italian deployment can provide a more geographically appropriate alternative to servers located farther north. Network packets rarely complain about the journey, but shorter journeys still tend to be useful.

Switzerland adds a Central European option

The new Switzerland location is positioned differently, with a stronger focus on Central European connectivity.

It may be particularly suitable for websites, corporate applications and other services targeting users in Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria and neighboring countries. A Swiss VPS can also act as an independent node within a geographically distributed infrastructure, giving organizations another location for backups, secondary services or workload separation.

Switzerland does not necessarily need to be the center of a project's infrastructure to be useful. A well-placed secondary node can quietly do its job while the primary systems receive all the attention.

Both locations are already available

AdminVPS has added Italy and Switzerland to its Promo VPS lineup, and servers in both locations are already available for deployment.

The two new locations give customers more options for matching server geography to their audience and infrastructure design. As hosting networks become increasingly distributed across Europe, adding another country is less about collecting flags and more about reducing the number of times traffic has to take the scenic route.
