Selectel introduced a new service in June — the AI Router. The tool is positioned as a single window of access to over 300 generative artificial intelligence models. The service takes on the routine of managing dozens of contracts and invoices from different vendors.
Gateway Without Bureaucracy
The AI Router acts as a universal intermediary between the user's application and external LLM providers. Instead of setting up separate integrations for OpenAI, Anthropic, and other platforms, developers use a single API key. Requests are sent through an OpenAI-compatible interface, which allows maintaining a single codebase for all connected models.
The main advantage of this approach is centralization. Clients receive end-to-end analytics, flexible quota management, and consolidated reporting. Payment is made from the internal balance of the Selectel personal account, eliminating the need to obtain corporate cards for every new service. The provider also guarantees the privacy of client prompts and data, not sharing them with third parties beyond the target models.
Limits and Deductions
The financial model is built on a pay-as-you-go principle. Deductions occur once a week on Mondays for the volume of services consumed during the previous seven days. The cost includes an unlimited number of tokens within the established monetary limit. The user sets limits on requests, tokens, or the total budget to control expenses in real time.
To start working, it is necessary to create a router in the personal account, pay for it, and set a consumption limit. Service activation is handled through technical support. If a project requires several isolated routers, each one is paid for and configured separately.
